Hello Reader,
Here we are in high summer, just past the mid-point of the calendar year and nearing the mid-point of summer. It is a time of high heat and abundant productivity in nature - color and growth for the plants, fruits and veggies ripening by the hour and birdsong from sun up to sun down. In the Upper Valley, it has been a bumper year for berries - strawberries, then raspberries, now blueberries and soon blackberries. I hope you are finding some local offerings and savoring each juicy bite!!
This can be a great time of year to reflect and slow down as the natural world is in high gear - find a chair in the shade, sit by some water, or lay out in a hammock. Take in the sounds around you and listen in as your mental clutter clears. Make a mental note of how you’re feeling, how your year (or summer) is shaping up, what’s happened that you didn’t expect and what you’re grateful for. Here are a few more reflection questions if you want to take a few moments to write after sitting quietly.

As I think about...... how I'm feeling, what do I need more of? What do I need less of? ... how the year (or summer) is shaping up, what's working? What isn't? ... what's happened that I didn't expect, what's anchoring me? What's bringing me joy? What's getting in the way of my joy? |
This worksheet from my mentor, Dr. Jennifer Hutton, is a great one if you want to go even deeper! And here is a great post from a psychologist I love, Sheryl Finn, about joy. She also has a recent podcast episode on the topic of Reclaiming Joy.
This song has also been on repeat when I needed to invite joy directly in and be reminded to Let Things Go.
Lastly, I’m feeling drawn to offer some pop up classes or workshops! Be on the lookout for more information soon! And if there is a topic you’re interested in, reply back here and let me know. You can also share more feedback in this short survey that should take no more than 5 minutes.
AND I have space for a couple of short term clients - pregnant, postpartum, prepping for surgery or working through some pain - take a look at my calendar and we can set up a free 30 minute call to see if working together could be a good option!
I hope you find time to pause and settle into joy,

“The universe sure does give you just what you need, and this is an incredible reminder that softness and openness and willingness to not know the answer... is actually what I want them to see.”
