Presence, Community, Collaboration

Hi there Reader,

Who else is feeling like time is flying by and you’re always on high alert? Maybe you're able to get a moment of reprieve here and there, but you’re stuck in a loop of stress and reactivity? I’m feeling it too; I talk about it with nearly all of my clients and colleagues, and I can see it when I people-watch while eating my lunch. And yet, I also hear so much laughter bubbling up from Salt Hill and Three Tomatoes; I see joy in the mundanity of life as people walk their dog, ride their bike or enjoy an ice cream. How do we hold the paradox of life right now - the joy AND the fear, the laughter AND the tears, the mundane AND the unprecedented? All I know is that we don’t do it alone and we do it little by little, finding micro-moments of taking a breath.

Here are a couple client inspired things that have helped me in the past couple of months:

✨ The Wendell Berry poem - The Peace of Wild Things - read or listen

✨ The songs of mama nous, of which there are many, but these 2 I’m singing often to myself and our 4 year old son - worrying has never changed a thing and you are a good person

And for those who have been here a while, you know I love podcasts and I love Brene Brown, put them together and I’m hopeful again! Check out her whole series with Adam Grant (started September 17th), especially this one on time scarcity and pocket presence.

Additionally, I’m paying close attention to the foliage that overall isn't the most spectacular, but has glimpses of such beauty, and is passing so fast! I’m savoring sunsets and seeing the moon (who else was stunned by this month's full moon rise?!). And I’m finding that I’m less motivated to move, so my practices are shorter and lower in intensity, but still effective.

What are you grounding into? What’s helping you stay in your humanity?
