Skidding into September and Creating Intentional Space

Hi Reader,

It feels like August went by in a snap, while also was jam packed with soaking up all things summer. The past newsletters this summer have focused on sustainability and not over-doing. As August turns into September, I wouldn’t say I was perfect, but I was right at the edge of sustainability. How was August for you?

Sometimes summer in New England feels like we have to over-do because the season is over before we know it. So, if you’re skidding into September feeling like you don’t know what day it is or you can’t believe it’s already back-to-school; with mornings feeling a little darker, crickets replacing bird song and all the while your garden is nearly in full bloom or your CSA share is feeling abundant... you aren’t alone. Summer is just past peak and fall harvest is just beginning!

In this modern era, the world around us just keeps going at a seemingly faster and faster rate. We have to be intentional about creating a pause, blocking off time to slow down, remembering the value of rest and really noticing the transition of seasons and time. September can feel like a good time for a scheduled reset as the season shifts - a new school year begins and we think about how we want to care for ourselves before the rush of the holiday season. Whether you’re connected to a school schedule or not, we can all relate to this time of year feeling like a restart. What are you looking to change about your routine, your time allotment or your focus for the coming season?

Reply back, I'd love to hear!

I have TWO upcoming classes if you’re looking for some support with mindfulness, movement and rest as your schedule changes and the season begins to shift.
